The Four Fixations of a Brilliant Leader – Alan J Sears

I’m reading a business book, but not the sort you might be thinking of!

I really loved Alan J Sears’ first business fable The Six Conversations of a Brilliant Managerso I jumped at the second in the series: The Four Fixations of a Brilliant Leader.

Here’s what happens:

Julie-Anne Johnson is the head of a division of a large healthcare company, but when a colleague has a health problem she is asked to step into a bigger role. There she discovers a business under threat and the book cleverly uses that backdrop to showcase a brilliantly effective model of leadership in action. No spoilers, but it turns out that Julie-Anne’s four ‘fixations’ are equally as useful in her home life as at work

This is a very short book and very easy to read, but the plot keeps moving and makes turning the pages quite compelling. What I also loved is that after the story is finished there is a section at the back that explains all the thinking behind the ideas, and really showed me how to put them all into action, in my business – and with my family.

Want to buy this book ? We encourage you to visit and find an independent bookstore to purchase it from. Many independent bookshops are micro businesses.
